Roberto Fonseca & Vincent Segal live at Teatre l’Aliança del Poblenou
Improvisation at close range
A piano, a cello and two musicians used to moving beyond boundaries. Roberto Fonseca and Vincent Segal arrive at Teatre l’Aliança del Poblenou on November 3th with a duo that brings together two exceptional careers and a shared curiosity: exploring new paths between jazz, classical music and sounds from around the world.
On one side, Cuban pianist Roberto Fonseca, known for his career with the legendary Buena Vista Social Club and for his collaborations with artists such as Herbie Hancock, Esperanza Spalding, Fatoumata Diawara and C. Tanganа. On the other, French cellist Vincent Segal, a musician who has made dialogue between cultures one of the defining elements of his career, sharing the stage with artists such as Cesária Évora, Vanessa Paradis, Ballaké Cissoko and Matthieu Chedid. Together, they bring a remarkable international career and nominations for the Grammy Awards and the Victoires de la Musique.
After years of sharing stages, Fonseca and Segal come together in a more intimate format, where each piece leaves room for the music to evolve in the moment. An intimate and nuanced concert to experience up close at Teatre l’Aliança del Poblenou.
